Some days back, precisely May 21st a lady was spotted on the street of Lekki Lagos, with placards asking for job. the description reads thus:
“Please help no job, 2.1 computer science”
The lady who out of frustration of unemployment left behind shame and arrogance as she stoops herself so low to take this bold step. Few days ago,she met with the chairman of UBA group, Tony Elumelu. Luck has run into her again as she was seen with Vice President Osinbajo at his residence yesterday. Something good is cooking, lucky her.
Youth unemployment has become a turmoil in Nigeria. To make matters worse, the government doesn’t seem to be addressing this problem. Do we have to hold placards on the street to get employment? Meanwhile, youth unemployment increased to 21.5 percent in 2016 from 19 percent last year.
It is a disgrace to our country that youths have to hold placards on the streets to get employment. What is the essence of getting an education in this country?
